Meaningful Change

Join a growing movement of students tackling local environmental challenges.

Empowering Student Initiatives

Novelect helps students design and lead environmental projects that respond to the needs of their own regions. In Arizona, intense monsoon bursts fall on a drought-stressed landscape, so students capture stormwater through DIY barrel installations. In Pennsylvania, aging infrastructure and stormwater erosion threaten neighborhoods, so students build native pollinator gardens that stabilize soil and absorb runoff. In Georgia, some of the hottest urban heat-island blocks in the country lack shade, so students plant long-lived native trees. In Florida, heavy tourism and recurring sargassum leave beaches polluted, so students run structured coastal cleanups and sorting events. In Washington, heavily used trailheads suffer from regular litter, so students organize trail-steward crews that maintain and monitor these access points. Together, these projects reflect a simple idea: students can improve the places where they live by focusing on the specific environmental pressures around them.
